Lula returns to the UN General Assembly
On September 21, the 乐鱼 体育鈥檚 Brazil Institute hosted a discussion on Brazilian President Luiz In谩cio Lula da Silva鈥檚 recent trip to New York for the UN General Assembly. Brazil Institute Director Bruna Santos and Brazilian Report Editor-in-chief Gustavo Ribeiro analyzed Lula鈥檚 major policy speech, bilateral meetings, and the state of U.S.-Brazil relations.
鈥淭his trip was another chapter in this 鈥楤razil is Back鈥 book that Brazil鈥檚 President Lula is writing. Initially, Lula鈥檚 presidency showed great promise and received goodwill from the international community, but due to several diplomatic missteps, many people doubted he would fulfill the expectations set by this 鈥楤razil is Back鈥 narrative. This trip to New York, with a large Brazilian delegation, was overall positive and provided the world with much clearer insights into Lula鈥檚 stance,鈥 Brazil Institute Director Bruna Santos said during this conversation.
