Haliehana Ala臐um Ayagaa Stepetin (Unangax虃) was born and raised in Akutan, Alaska and is an Unangax虃 dancer, performing artist, poet, scholar, and activist. She's a PhD Candidate in Native American Studies at UC Davis with a designated emphasis in Studies in Performance and Practice. Her research situates Native North Pacific perspectives on food sovereignty and environmental justice in dialogue with Unangax虃 subsistence performance(s) and sustainability protocols as interventions to the ongoing climate crisis.
