General (retired) Juli谩n Pacheco Tinoco is Minister of Security and Coordinator of Honduras鈥� Special Commission on Police Reform. Previously, he was nominated by the National Council on Defense and Security to serve as National Director of Investigation and Intelligence. In 2014, he was honored by the National Congress with the 鈥淕ran Cruz Placa de Oro鈥� medal. During the course of his military career, he served in a number of high-level roles, including as secretary general of the Joint Chiefs, director of the Academia Militar de Honduras 鈥淕eneral Francisco Moraz谩n,鈥� director of Strategic Information of the Armed Forces (C-2), and battalion commander. Pacheco graduated from the Academia Militar de Honduras 鈥淕eneral Francisco Moraz谩n鈥� as a Second Lieutenant in the infantry. He also attended the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), where he graduated with a B.S. in legal and social sciences.
