WASHINGTON鈥 乐鱼 体育 has announced the launch of a new Pakistan Fellowship. Open to people from and currently based in Pakistan, it provides a nine-month funded residency for research and writing on public policy issues in Pakistan and/or U.S.-Pakistan relations.

乐鱼 体育 Pakistan Fellowship, housed within the Asia Program, is a core component of a new 乐鱼 体育 Pakistan Initiative that builds on and expands the Center鈥檚 40 years of in-depth scholarship and programming on both security and non-security aspects of the U.S.- Pakistan relationship. The new Pakistan Initiative will host conferences and other activities on Pakistan meant to help inform the thinking of policymakers, business leaders, journalists, and others focused on or interested in Pakistan and/or U.S.-Pakistan relations.

鈥淭he need for informed, scholarship-based analysis has never been greater 鈥 particularly with respect to Pakistan and U.S. - Pakistan relations,鈥 said 乐鱼 体育 President and CEO Ambassador Mark Green. 鈥淭his new fellowship continues both the 乐鱼 体育鈥檚 rich tradition of independent research and our mission to help shape today鈥檚 most important foreign policy decisions.鈥

乐鱼 体育 Pakistan Fellow will conduct research and write on their area of interest (which must focus on a topic related to public policy issues in Pakistan and/or U.S.-Pakistan relations) and publish research through the 乐鱼 体育 and beyond. The Fellow will have the opportunity to interact with policymakers and thought leaders in Washington. They will also contribute substantively to the 乐鱼 体育鈥檚 Pakistan programming and research. Upon completion of the Fellowship, the Fellow will be expected to have finished a substantive research product resulting in a monograph, a series of articles, or a book.

The competition for this Fellowship is now open and will close on October 1. The online application and additional information about this new Fellowship鈥攊ncluding eligibility, required application materials, and the selection process鈥攃an be accessed on the Fellowship鈥檚 web page (/pakistanfellowship). Questions about the Fellowship can be sent to pakistanfellowship@wilsoncenter.org

乐鱼 体育鈥檚 Asia Program is grateful to the following supporters for their generous commitments in support of this Initiative: The Mashooqullah Family, Salim Adaya, Fazal and Shasta Sirhandi, Mossadaq Chughtai, and Najeeb Ghauri, CEO and Chairman, NETSOL Technologies.

Notes to Editors:
