Expert Bio
Abraham F. Lowenthal is professor emeritus of international relations at the University of Southern California and president emeritus of the Pacific Council on International Policy. He was the founding chief executive of the Latin American Program at the Woodrow 乐鱼 体育 (1977鈥1983), the Inter-American Dialogue (1982鈥1992), and the Pacific Council (1995鈥2005) and currently serves as a board member of the Leo Baeck Institute. His research has focused on Latin America, US-Latin American relations, democratic governance, and California鈥檚 global role. He has published numerous books, more than 200 newspaper columns in the United States and abroad, and 100 book chapters and journal articles, including 8 in Foreign Affairs.
