Expert Bio

Anton Barbashin is a political analyst focusing on Russia. His latest publications focus on Russia鈥檚 political development, foreign policy and Eurasian integration. He is a regular contributor to Foreign Affairs, The American Interest, Intersection, Forbes Russia, and other publications. He is co-founder and managing editor of a Russia-focused online publication and an analyst at the Warsaw-based Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding.

A specialist in international relations by training, Anton Barbashin has studied Eurasian integration and its economic and ideological aspects. In 2010 he joined the Siberian Expert Center for Modernization where he worked as a deputy director for international relations promoting Russian-European expert cooperation and joint projects. Since 2013, he has been a fellow at the Center for Postindustrial Studies (Moscow). In 2013-2014 he was a contributing writer for the World Economic Journal.  In 2017 he edited the collective volume 鈥淩ussia: three years since Crimea鈥� published by Intersection and Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding.
